Can I share my seat with my child?Top

No, sorry. Every person at an event must have a ticket, even babies unless otherwise noted in the event description. In some cases we sell childrens ticket with a discount but only where specially noted.

Is there a group discount?Top

No, there are no group discounts.

Why do companies get tickets in pre-sale?Top

Sometimes promoters and companies make deals so that the company can offer its clients pre-sale tickets, Midi.is however never gives companies pre-sale tickets.

Can I buy my ticket by phone?Top

No, unfortunately we cannot accept payment over the phone. All ticket transactions must go through our website or our box-office outlets.

Which payment methods are available at Midi.is?Top

Website customers can pay for their tickets with either VISA or MasterCard (EuroCard). Our box-office outlets offer a wider range of payment options (cash, cheque, debet card).

Why are there sometimes „better“ tickets for sale than I was offered on the website?Top

When you click "Find tickets", we return the best available seats.  You can click the "Find tickets" button again to get other seats, however doing this will cause you to release the seats we originally presented you with and you might end up with worse seats.

Can I exchange my seat for a different one at an event?Top

Unfortunately we cannot change your seat for completed ticket purchases. If special circumstances apply, please contact us.

Why is there a time limit when purchasing tickets online?Top

When you are shopping for tickets, you are "holding" real inventory. No one else can purchase those tickets unless you release them. Due to high demand, we've implemented a time limit during the checkout process. Each checkout page is assigned a different time limit based on the type of information we need from you. If you exceed the posted time on the page, the tickets you are holding are released for others to purchase. You have about 5 minutes for each step to complete your purchase. This gives as many people as possible a chance to purchase tickets.

If you have exceeded the time limit and have to restart the booking process, there is NO GUARANTEE you will be offered the same tickets as originally. We recommend you have your credit card information handy when starting the ticket purchasing process.

Why did I get different tickets from what I was first given?Top

When you click search tickets button you´ll get the best tickets available. It is however possible that someone else got the same tickets.  He/she who completes the payment first gets the tickets, and if not you´ll get other tickets instead.

Please note! If you open a new Midi.is window in your browser and find new tickets there, you are overwriting the tickets you found before (in the other window, even if it is still open). You can therefore not go back to the „old“ window an buy the tickets found there.

I can not attend the event. Can I get a refund?Top

No. If you can not attend the event, you have to give/get rid of your ticket by your self.
Only when an event is cancelled, are tickets refunded.

Where can I buy tickets?Top

You can either purchase tickets on-line through our website www.midi.is or at one of our box-office outlets.

Who is in charge of refunding tickets?Top

All tickets bought through midi.is and at out box office outlets are refunded by midi.is. Refunds are issued at our offices at Fiskislóð 31, 101 Reykjavík.

How do Internet pre-sales work?Top

Pre-sales for certain events are only available for a select group. f.ex. MasterCard cardholders. Orders need to fill a certain criteria to be completed, f.ex. payment needs to made by a certain credit-card.

Internet pre-sales are usually sold from a reserved allotment of seats, which may not reflect the same availability during the public ticket sale. Internet pre-sales provide the advantage of exclusive purchasing windows in advance of the public sale, which often results in less people competing for the pool of available seats. However, Internet pre-sales may also have limited seating available in various areas, these pre-sales are intended as advance purchasing windows and do not necessarily provide access to better seating.

Where can I pick up my ticket/s?Top

In your confirmation e-mail it is specified where you can pick up your bought tickets. Not all tickets are picked up at Midi.is box office outlets so please read your confirmation e-mail carefully.

If I have already bought my ticket on the web, why do I have to pick it up?Top

When you buy your ticket online you avoid queues. You can pick up your ticket/s at your conveniance. Your ticket is already paid for and does not go back for sale even if it is not picked up.

Can someone other than me pick up my ticket?
When you pick-up your tickets you must have an Identity Card (ID). If you wish to have another person to pick-up your tickets you can send us e-mail with all your information (name, SSN (if applicable), event, and the name and SSN (if applicable) of the person who is picking-up the tickets).

If you have bought a movie ticket you can find and print it on our web. The e-ticket is valid as a regular ticket in the movie theater. If you do not have access to a printer, you can give your booking number at the movie theater box office and get your ticket/s there.

Can you send me my tickets?Top

We can send tickets though secure mail to addresses in Iceland for a fee of 750 ISK, for this option please contact us.  We recommend that you pick up the tickets at one of our box offices or at the entrence at the venue.

SMS receiptsTop

Users can now receive receipts as text messages (SMS) to their mobile phones.  Users can then present the text messages at venues to pick up their tickets.

This service is valid for all ticket purchases.

I can not read and print my e-tickets.Top

To open your e-tickets you need the newest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. You might need to free memory by closing applications on your screen (that you are not using). If you still can not open and print your e-ticket, please contact us using our contact form.

Where can I find the e-ticket I bought?Top

When you bought your ticket a confirmation e-mail was sent to you. In this e-mail there is a link to your receipt. Click this link. When your receipt opens, please click the blue "E-ticket/s" button. Your ticket will open in Acrobat reader and from there you can print it.

What happens if someone copies my eTicket?Top

Each barcode can only be scanned once. Midi.is does not take responsibility for any inconvenience caused by duplicate or copied tickets.

Where can I use my gift card?Top

Gift cards can be used on the www.midi.is website and in Brim our box-office outlets.  Gift cards can not be used at other retail stores i.e. cinemas, theatres, or sport centers.  The gift card can be used to purchase tickets for any event, but you will only be able to purchase tickets for selected events in Brim.

How do I use my gift card to pay online?Top

When paying with gift card step two - you simply “click” on the Gift card column in purchasing step 2.  Then you type in your gift card number and your social security number (SSN).

I get the message that I am unable to pay with my gift card or the card does not exist, what is wrong?Top

Before they can be used all gift cards must be activated.  You can activate your gift card by clicking here.

How can I check the balance on my gift card?Top

You can click on the following gift card balance link or call 540-9800, but remember to have your gift card number and SSN ready.

I do not have enough credit on my gift card, how can I pay the difference?Top

If you exceed the amount left on your gift card you must pay the difference with your credit card.  Note: It can currently only be done by purchasing tickets in Brim.  Unused credit can not be deferred to another gift card.

I lost my gift card or it was stolen, can I get a new card?Top

Midi.is is not responible for lost or stolen gift cards, and gift cards are not refunded.

When does my gift card expire?Top

The gift card can be used up to one year from the time it was issued. You can read the expiration date on the backside of the card.  If the gift card is not used within the time limit, it will expire and the amount will be lost.

How do I use MMS tickets?Top

When you show up for an event that you bought MMS tickets to, you only need to open the MMS message on your mobile phone and present it at the entrance.  A ticket agent will scan the barcode from your mobile phone and you can enter the event.

How do I use SMS receipts?Top

When you show up to the event that you bought tickets for, present the SMS receipt at the ticket window to receive your ticket/s.

I only received one MMS/SMS but I bought more tickets, is that right?Top

We only send one barcode per purchase to your mobile phone.  The barcode that you received contains information about how many tickets you bought and can be scanned more than once.  For instance: if you bought 3 tickets the same barcode will be scanned 3 times.

If you bought 3 tickets and got 1 MMS, you can forward the MMS to two of your friends, but then each barcode can only be scanned once.

Why are some shows sold out so quickly?Top

Demand for some major events is far more then supply on tickets.

Can I buy as many tickets as I want?Top

There are some limits to how many tickets you can buy. It depends on the event what the limit is.

Can I buy alcohol at the event?Top

Alchohol is usually not sold at evens, there are however exceptions to this  and we suggest that you contact the venue directly to obtain this information.  If the event is at a venue that normally serves alchohol (bar, concert hall) you can usually count on alchohol being sold.

Is it going to be a good show?Top

Of course we cannot guarantee your entertainment at events.  We advise our customers to read event descriptions carefully to see if the events suit them before purchasing tickets.

Is there an age restriction for the event?Top

If there is an age restriction, it is specified in the information about the event. If it is not specified, there is no age restriction.  We do however advise you to use common sense when deciding whether or not you should bring young children to events.

Can I put my coat in storage?Top

Usually venues have coat check. At some venues there is a charge involved (200-500ISK). We advise our customers to contact the venues direcly to obtain this information.

If I purchase tickets in standings do I have stand on the floor?Top

Yes, if you purchase tickets in standings you must stand on the floor, usually in front of the stage.  We would like to point out that you are not allowed to bring your own seats if you purchased tickets in standings.

How can I get back stage?Top

Only a back stage pass can get you in back stage. Back stage passes are not sold at Midi.is.

Can I bring my camera / video recorder to events?Top

Unfortunately you are not allowed to bring any recording devices to events sold by midi.is

I lost something at an event, who do I turn to?Top

Please contact the venue directly, they all have a lost & found box that you can take a look at the next day.
