Borgarleikhusid
The Reykjavik City Theatre boasts of an ensemble of 24 actors. The theatre has built a varied repertoire of new Icelandic drama, other contemporary writing and classics. Under the artistic direction of Gudjon Pedersen (since 2000/2001), the company prides itself in the building of a strong ensemble, the emancipation of young writers and directors, and in the wide range of events presented; varying from philosophical debates to rock concerts.
The Reykjavik City Theatre produces at least six new productions each year. The theatre greatly appreciates to have the Icelandic Dance Company (Id) in residence, moreover the theatre hosts productions of at least two free theatre groups each season. The theatre has a big stage, 2 studios and a café-theatre.
