Reykjavík Midsummer Music is a chamber music festival that will take place for the first time 17-19 June 2012.

As artistic director, pianist Vikingur Ólafsson puts it: "the idea is very simple - to gather very fine musicians and play some very fine music in Harpa at the most beautiful time of the year in Iceland."

The 2012 program will be sparkling and includes chamber music from Brahms to Ligeti, Ravel to Thomas Adés performed by some of Iceland's most inspiring musicians.

A special guest for the grand finale in Eldborg Hall will be Iceland's favourite enfant terrible, Megas, who will perform his songs accompanied by Víkingur Ólafsson and also in an arrangement for string quintet.
