Paul McCartney is one of the greatest artists of our times. Paul played a major role in making pop music an art form five decades ago. He is still very creative as a writer and performer. Paul McCartney created the image of the pop artist, brilliant singer, original composer, clever producer and arranger and a multi instrumentalist par excelence.

Paul McCartney has his seventieth birthday on the 18th of June. Icelandic musicians will celebrate this event with a concert in Harpa that very day. They want to thank him for the inspiration and his pioneering work with The Beatles, but most of all for all the music he has given us.
